Plaques to honor 133rd's fallen soldiers will be dedicated this weekend. If you are in the area and have the time then you should stop and give thanks.

  • A plaque for Sgt. Christopher D. Gelineau will be dedicated 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at the Stevens Avenue Armory, 772 Stevens Ave.

A strange time capsule of sorts

It was recently reported that a bowhead whale caught off the Alaskan coast last month had a 130 year old harpoon head embedded in it. Embedded deep under the whales blubber was a 3 1/2-inch arrow-shaped projectile that was estimated by researchers to be between 115 and 130 years old.
