mystery Springfield
I recently purchased an original civil war Springfield in firing condition. its not your typical Springfield though. First off its a two bander, with a 33" barrel (and I assure you its not a Bannerman Cadet cut down). and its not a cut down that was done by a civilan. you can tell plain as day that it was done by the factory. My original bayonet fits like a glove. It has an 1863 style stock and buttplate, 1864 barrel, and 1863 lockplate baring the name Norwich. But its not a norwich.

Ladies and Gentlemen~
Those of you who know me, know I keep personal things personal, but I am reaaching out to you shamelessly via this posting.
Our dear Doc Celli is not doing well. His recent surgery did not go as well as we had hoped and he has now developed double pneumonia. His test of strrength has been show time and time again in his struggles.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he struggles once more. His body is weak, but his Faith has always been strong.

REV WAR help needed!!!
Ladies and gentlemen~
I am calling upon you for assistance. I have been commissioned by a Bostonian Lady to make her a frock. She is in need of it for the Memorial Day Parade in DC. YIKES!! To order the pattern may be of little use as to the shipping times. Would any of you have or know someone who may have the Polonaise Patttern by Period Impressions #420? (or a close approximation)
Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.
Yours frantically,
Miss Rose

Cinco De Mayo
Personally, the 5th of May is a celebration! My first daughter was born! :)
***************************************************************
The 5th of May is not Mexican Independence Day, but it should be! And Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday, but it should be. Mexico declared its independence from mother Spain on midnight, the 15th of September, 1810. And it took 11 years before the first Spanish soldiers were told and forced to leave Mexico.

Auschwitz Note Surprises Survivor
ALLAUCH, France (April 29) - Albert Veissid stashed stolen marmalade for six fellow prisoners in an Auschwitz bunker, a French Jew helping Polish Christians in a gesture of desperate solidarity. In thanks, they shared spare cups of soup - and etched his name alongside theirs in a note buried in a bottle for 65 years.

Happy Easter
I know, I know, you are all expecting some words of wisdom on historically celebrating the holiday during our time of struggles. My bad. I have not been feeling the best the past few days and sitting in front of my monitor is not the most pleasant thing. For this particular holiday, my vials of wisdom need refilling on the subject. LOL
Enjoy each other today, for in the big scheme, today is what matters most.
Peace,
~Miss Rose

I dont normaly put out personal stuff out for the forum but I realized that I know so many people that this was the best way to get some news out, to people who might have an intrest...

OK, back on subject....sort of...
It is the soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, Who serves under the flag and Whose coffin is draped by the flag Who allows the protester to burn the flag. -Charles M. Province
