Ten years ago this week, I bought my second domain name, MaineMilitia.com, and this site was born. It has certainly changed a lot over that time. But somethings have always been the same. MaineMilitia.com has always been a way for me to combine several of my passions together into one hobby. My love of Maine and it's grand history, all the great experiences I've had in the hobby of Civil War reenacting, and communication in all it's modern and technological forms.

I updated to Drupal 6.14 and all contrib modules overnight.

If anyone finds anything broken or not working like before then please let me know. I've tested most of the main features but not everything.

With the impending storm for tonight and tomorrow, I am thinking I might find myself at home. I may take this opportunity to move this website to a new hosting company. Although I'm happy with my current host, I'm not taking full advantage of them and am paying more than necessary. So it is time to move to a less expensive host.

It looks like I may have a snowday tomorrow. If that occurs then I intend to do some maintenance and an upgrade to this site. So it will be offline and unavailable for a while. And I might make some other changes as well. Thanks!

Google has a feature that has been around for a while but I haven't really played with until now. Google Custom Search Engine allows you to define a list of websites or specific pages as part of the custom search engine so that when you perform a search it returns results from only those locations.

I'll be doing some long overdue house keeping for MaineMilitia.com this week. Have a request? Then let me know. Notice a problem? Pause a day and then if it remains then let me know. I'm going to fix the long-overdue calendar idea. Change the views of the front page a bit. And maybe implement another idea or two.

I performed an update to the website tonight. Not sure if everything is working at the moment. So if you experience problems then contact me. but know that I am working on it tomorrow night. Stay tuned!

The website has had many many attempts at SPAM recently. So for the time being I have turned off automatic user creation. New users can still create an account and validate their email. But new users don't become active until I approve them.

The hosting company migrated this website to a new server last night. Please email me or post here if you have any problems or see anything strange.
