Yesterday’s mailbag delivered a question about living history events in Maine this coming year. The author said she had been to Norland’s last year for a reenactment and wanted to plan for one this year. The one thing I hadn’t done since the redesign was get the calendar up-to-date. But other than one unit who doesn’t seem to have their calendar online, I’ve now added every living history group’s schedules to my calendar.
I’ve included all the groups that I am aware of and the events that I believe are open to the public. Many fine museums have regular living history activities with their staff. I may add these as I work through the list and find special events. Feel free to check for a museum near you for other events. Supporting our museums goes a long way to ensuring our enjoyment and understanding of history.
I’ll add other events as I become aware of them.

The following calendar is a list of known events and activities happening in the State of Maine or elsewhere if related to Maine organizations. Unless otherwise stated, MaineMilitia.com is not organizing these events, may not be attending any of these events and therefore is not responsible for changes or accuracy. Every effort will be made to keep this list up to date, but it is for reference only. Please see the event organizers for the most up-to-date information about a particular event.
If you have an event of activity you wish to see me add to the calendar or are aware of a change to an event listed then please contact me.
