Interesting
Is there any background information available? The Mason Dixon Alliance is not new, is this just a new proclamation?
I went looking for links but both the United States Volunteers and the First Division, Army of Northern Virginia proclamation. Sorry, I just love links to source material.
Well, it's nice to see everyone getting along.
sewing fingers together
My dear Mr. Johnson~
I will find where this came from. I am under the impression it was given to Norlands by a member of the 3rdME, but I may be mistaken. I am also of the understanding that it is followed by the 3rd as well as the 15th AL, but again, I may be mistaken. I shall sew my fingers together as a reminder to give links, etc in the future.
Hey... how about a spell check? (pleeze)LOL

Pardon my pet peeve
Dear Miss Rose,
Please pardon my pet peeve. Such things interest me and reading the details behind such changes keep me out of trouble.
I am acquainted with the chain of command and realize that both the 3rd Maine and the 15th Alabama fall under the command of the US Volunteers and the 1st Division of the Army of Northern Virginia, respectively. I have the highest respect for all four organizations and am sure that a great deal of discussion and contemplation was involved. However, I am still left curious that both the USV and the 1st Div, ANV have the old proclamation on their websites still.

Of course, this can be explained in many ways. Chiefly, as I am learning more and more about you, I suspect that in your interest to share knowledge, information and your need to organize, and the fact that I have provided this fine quality and easy to use communication tool, you are just faster and more efficient than the command staff of these two fine organizations.
I bow and am humbled by your energy and dedication.
As to your request for a tool to spell check within this website and as a gentleman, who in spite of a fine education never quite understood why a particular string of letters, determined by a learned body, made a word correct and my string of characters, though more comprehensible, made a word incorrect, will consider your request and see what I can do.
I apoligize for my eccentric habits and attempts to foster them upon others. I am sorry if anyone is put off. I look forward to meeting you in person.
your obediant servant,
men.....sigh
My dear Mr. Johnson~
It may very well be that I am a bit persnickety myself. When I am tasked to complete a project, I try in all earnest not to dilly-dally. The best way to free my mind and time for another fascinating task is to complete the one at hand.
It is entirely possible that they have just not had the time or inclination to update their website. Can't blame them; it is a time consuming process. And not all (ahem) men have the same enthusiasm as you when it comes to being on top of computers, etc. And some men involved can't be faulted as they are not of this computer generation. So without insulting them and the hard work they do, I shall simply share anything I have at hand and feel is viable to share without causing too much of a ruckus. (If I happen to be ahead of the pack, so much to our favor :) hmmm.... point and case... did they EVER get the Executive Order #26 posted on the Maine.gov site? LOL The LD304? See? It comes in handy knowing the Widow Rose :)
As to the spell check... I must confess, it is merely selfish on my part. You see, my mind gets going much too quickly for my poor knarled up fingers to keep up. Thus my typing is dyslexic(at best) sometimes. And although I do not judge others, I am most harsh on myself in my correspondences.
I look forward to our meeting as well. Same bat time? same bat place?
Your problem child,
~Miss Rose
