Who needs Excedrine??
We have Michael!! Thank you for posting this, MIchael.
Miss Rose
Oh no, Thank you!
Your welcome but I want to thank you for finding and sharing the news. This isn't even on the State website yet!
Makes me wonder just what you are capable of on campaign? Ha ha ha...
Loose lips sink ships
My dear Mr. Johnson.....
A gentleman should never ask and a lady would never tell ;)
Good Idea
I'm glad that our state politicans are realizing the importance of the Civil War. I wonder if the federal government is planning on doing anything. I haven't heard about anything yet. It might be too early.
Have a nice afternoon everyone.
JJ
our illustrious federal government
My dear pvt. JJ~
It is my understanding there is to be a country wide commemoration... although I have not batted my brown eyes in that direction yet to get the information....(and, yes... for those of you who know me well.. I used the word "yet") if/when I get the news I shall post it expeditiuosly.
I look forward to meeting you someday. Perhaps at Norlands?
Miss Rose
PS, stay tuned for Maine's events... this is gonna be a wild ride for the next 4-5 years!!!
Norlands
Hi Miss Rose,
Unfortunalty I won't be at Norlands because that is the date of my high school guaduation. I will be at the Liberty, NY event, Willowbrook, Peaks Island, and the Train Robberies. Maybe we could meet up at the Train Robberies. Are you a part of the 15th Alabama? I don't know exactly.
I was also wondering if you had any information on the role of Corporal. I was recently elected Second Corporal of the 3rd Maine and have been trying to find info on it. If you have any info I would love to know about it.
Thanks and Take Care,
Corporal Jared Johnson, 3rd Maine
Cpl Johnson
My dear Cpl Johnson~
How delighful to hear from you. And congratulations on your promotion. It is an honor to know such a fine soldier such as yourself. I wish I could help you in your quest for knowledge. I am merely a woman, you know and as such, I find myself at a loss. Although I am one of the lucky few women of our time to have had a good education, of soldiering I am most ignorant.
If I may be so bold, perhaps another Cpl in your fine unit may be of some assistance? A mentor, perhaps?
Yes, my dear boy, I also belong to the 15th AL. sshhhh...... we wouldn't want anyone to make any assumptions as to where my loyalites lie. ;)
:::: batting innocent eyes ::::::
I do so look forward to making your acquaintance. I had planned on being at Liberty, but I believe my plans have taken a most delightful turn. Although I am disappointed at not attending, I see many other opportunites down the road. Perhaps, yes, at a Train Robbery. Or, I believe I may be joining you at Willowbrook if life plays to my whims.
Warmest Regards,
Miss Rose
Miss Rose
First I must tell you that Cpl Johnson is indeed a gentleman, I don't believe for a moment the stories we heard in Gettysburg about him compromising a young lady back at home.
(During Mailcall someone sent him a letter with information implying that he had done just that!)
LOL
Miss Deb
I have seen this young man in
I have seen this young man in the flesh and I tell you ladies behind that innocent face of childlike wonder lies a rapscalion! capeable of the most depraved debachery know to man......do not find you or your sisters alone with him, or daughters besides, as I do fear their might be some grievous consequences, on their virtue...
He is a blue-clad rouge, and must be watched!
Seamus
Of a Scaliwag's opinion
Oh, dear ,me!!
Such an unflattering discritpion of such a fine looking young man. I fear, perhaps, a bit of prejudice is inflicted upon your opinions, Mr. Seamus? I shall take your concerns under advisement and appreciate your attempt to protect the my most delicate virtues.
Do have a good day, sir.
~Miss Rose
A fine young man
Miss Deb~
Thank you for the information. I trust this young man...even if he may have had a slip of sorts, has learned the error of his ways and is now living a most respectible way of life. It would be such a disappoitment to have a fine looking young man such as he fall under the wing of some unscrupulous person guiding his young feet down the wrong path.
til later,
Miss Rose
Thank You for Miss
Good Evening Miss Rose,
I want to thank you for the nice comments about myself. I was a little suprised at Gettysburg to hear this dreadful news about my offspring, but that too has passed and I am enjoying life.
I sincerely hope that we do get to meet at an event this year. What you have heard from Miss Deb is true, but I doubt what you hear from Captain Pratt is true, being a Rebel and all -).
All in all, I just wanted to say thank you and keep in touch.
Very sincerely and respectfully yours,
Cpl. Jared Johnson, 3rd Maine Infantry
