Two weeks ago the CWPT placed Perryville Battlefield on the top ten most endangered battlefield list due to a development that is set to be built on the edge of the battlefield.
This development was approved by Boyle County Planning and Zoning, but the Perryville City Council still has to vote on it. You can voice your opposition by calling city hall at 859-332-8361 they are keeping a call log. The Perryville City Council will meet on this issue on April 3 at 7:00 P.M. to vote on the development. Perryville certainly needs economic development, but not on the edge of the battlefield. Please call now and voice your opposition - we need you."

Perryville
Perryville used to be my home battlefield. It still sits close to the center of town. Alot of the battlefield at the time of the battle was filled with pigs grazing. Sad to think of it being eaten up by a town. I do not know if any of you have been to Perryville but the town itself needs to be kept cleaner. Alot of history there dating back to even before the American Revoultion. If you ever get to Kentucky check out a little town name Franktown on the road to Perryville there is a wonderful old Kentucky plantation house there that has only had 3 owners and dates back to the early 1830's Brag used it days before marching to Perryville Hawks and Eagles Flay Like Doves.....................still as always Copperheadannie
