Greetings all of you up for a bit of fun,
Sometime ago there was a post for paintball and a few of us expressed an interest in getting together but nothing really came of it. Well here is our chance!!! I have been emailing back and forth with Mike Pratt and we have ironed out some details. Here they are:
* What: Paintball Event - modern combat tactics with the possibility of CW tactics. Camo's or something similiar for clothing. CW uniforms worn at your own risk!!! This event is also BYOP - Bring Your Own Paintballs.
* When & Where: October 13th at the Pratt Household (in Farmington) - Mike will be posting directions. Field of play is close to Mike's house...not in the house. Meet at his place at 9:00 AM and begin play by 9:30 AM at the latest. Play ends sometime in the mid to late afternoon with a cookout to follow. Why the 13th? I checked the calendars of the following units - 3rd Maine, 15th Alabama, 20th Maine and 29th Georgia - and all units have an open date.
* Why: Because it's so bloody fun!!! Not bloody in the literal sense but more of the English accent sense.
* Cost (if you own equipment): gas and food / snacks.
* Cost (if you don't own equipment): gas, food / snacks, paintballs & $10.00. I have a friend who owns 6 extra guns (2 pumps and 4 semi's) and 6 extra masks. If people want to borrow his equipment he is more than willing to lend it to them for the day. All he asks is $10.00 to help cover the cost of the air for the tanks and maintenance on the guns. You can pick up paintballs at Wal-Mart. The use of his equipment is first come first serve. If you want to borrow a gun and mask you need to do one of two things (1) let me know in an email you are interested - my email: tensix@prexar.com or (2) just reply to this post.
That's all for now. Any questions just reply to the post or email me. Hope to see you on the field!!!
Sincerely,
Mark Rohman

Directions......
Well here we go!
The best thing is to start this in Farmington proper...From the center of Farmington looking north,(the intersection where you see a bank two insurance companies and a hippi shop, theres a light.) turn right,(left if you are facing south, ie coming down from rangely or kingfield) but I digress. you are now heading up Broadway on to perham street going twords industry on 43....you will stay on 43 for about five or six miles, you will be on a very straight section of road with trees on both sides when you see it clearing ahead and a house that has a sign that says "Adams Family" on a saw blade get ready to turn left, going up the hill on Mosher hill rd. Stay on this road for about three and a half miles and you will see a sign for a road on the right. that turn would be federal row....go down federal row we are located in the second duplex first unit...I will put out a marker that you cant miss!

Paint Ball 2007
Hey Guys,
Lots of fun today. Can't believe I almost took the bunker!!! On an airsoft note - Jason & I figured out what was wrong with my MP-40. The safety switch on the bottom was slightly out of place and was basically always on safety. The battery was not burned out after all. It must have been positioned just right (or wrong) in the truck on the way up and taken a couple of bad bounces and knocked the switch out of place. 5 minute job to fix it and now it's as good as new. Another advantage of airsoft over paintball - because the guns use batteries & bb's and not CO2 & paintballs - airsoft can be played in the wintertime. Hmmm...Something to think about...Again, lots of fun and a big thank-you to Mike "sorry-I-drooled-on-the-airsoft-gun" Pratt and his lovely wife Vicky for hosting the event!!!

Having taken sunday to
Having taken sunday to "recover" even though we had a 15th meeting today, so I really dint have a recovery time....It was great fun....I think I had more fun during the bunker assault then I had during the point and guard rounds....It was a good bunker! a very painted bunker now...I took vicky out to show her where the "boys" were playing...and showed her the yellow paint ball of Jasons buried in the punky log.....Am looking at the sites....thinking of my Maine Alternative Investment Fund future proceeds and what spendthrift Item I might find myself investing in......
Now I will have to point out I didn't Drool...much. It was a pretty awsome "weapon" but I dont get out much......Now if we could only have airsoft Muskets then we could once and for all find out who really is the better shot at reenactments....Just have to have the spectators stand off at a distance....We will have to make plans to do this again sometime....better get out our calendars and see whats on the schedule for sometime next fall or spring...........
Dont blink.
