polonius to laretes, in the intrest in brevity let me be brief........
we arrived Friday evening about 6 corp bassford ever the scout had arrived before me and found our company street, we would be joining up with the first Maryland they had a first sergent but no officer. within a few minutes pvt laiche and his ladyfriend Miss kaylah(sic) and with corporal bassford and PVt laiche,pvt patton the lady folk and later Pvt Stubbins we had the camp up in no time.....last tent was up just in time before a medicvac lifebird helo came to land in the field right behind the street to take on what we believe to be an injured park ranger, but we never found out....upon lift off it nearly took down the tents nearest to it. so to the First Maryland boys, though they might never grace the board, I say it was a great time Chris, rocky, Mississippi, gezzer,the younguns ,cm,stateworker dude, and the blackpowder man..cant wait to fight alongside you guys again.....
but anyway....Sat was a nice day....company drill 8am went well the first sergent arrived after that...
battalion drill at ten, then a presentation to the Proals at 1 30 we gathered for the infantry demo and marched off to the fishbowl.....
Fun part was confederates aprox 50 union aprox 150
I had first Company....third and second went in before us third company went to our extreme left and advanced to the flat under heavy fire from the gazillion union rifles....seconf company was sent to the right to provide flanking fire upon the federal line that seemed to grow larger every time we killed one. then for my command debut first company was sent to the middle at the hights and provided covering fire by firing in ranks we then advance to the swamp to allow third company to begin their withdrawal...after some fighting we now withdrew to the heights again only to be nearly wiped out by a union volley with my four remaining men first co. was ordered from the field.....shortly after all was over.....
but looking at the clock I see I have to finish this later....
