I got this as an email from the Authentic Campaigner site:

"The Moderators of the Authentic Campaigner website in conjunction with the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room & Military Museum would like to take a minute of your time to discuss a hugely important preservation opportunity. Recently, the museum has had the opportunity to acquire one of the most significant collections of Confederate supply related documents ever discovered. With help from concerned living historians like you, we can assure that this collection will be preserved for future generations.
The papers themselves have been identified to General Colin McRae of Mississippi who served as the Confederacy's chief financial agent in Europe. McRae was dispatched to England in late 1862 to oversee the disbursements of the huge Erlanger loan along with auditing the accounts of Caleb Huse, the main purchaser of Confederate war material up to that point in the conflict. Huse's business relationships with the established English outfitting firm of S. Isaac Campbell & Co. had come under intense scrutiny of the Confederate government and the investigation fell upon McRae's shoulders.
Contained within this expansive collection of 2500+ documents are no less than hundreds of actual S. Isaac Campbell & Co. invoices for specific goods and articles, most listing prices, quantities, etc. From these documents, it will be easy to see that many of our collective notions regarding the average Confederate soldier and his access to uniforms and equipment may be challenged.
Please follow the discussions relating to these documents on the Authentic Campaigner website; we think you'll quickly realize the magnitude and significance of this collection. Most importantly though, it's obvious this collection needs to be preserved, cataloged and interpreted by one of the nation's leading CW-related historical institutions. This is where you come in! The Authentic Campaigner and the SCCRR&MM need your help now to raise funds for the total and complete purchase of this collection, thus keeping it intact for future generations. Please consider helping, even if it's a small amount! You'll be happy you did!"
