Brunswick Topsham Memorial Day Parade Committee
March 2, 2006
The Brunswick Topsham Memorial Day Parade is one of the largest in the state of Maine. This year the parade will be on May 29, 2006 and begin at 9:00 AM.
The parade committee is committed to creating a parade that will honor those veterans who have served and given their last full measure of devotion along with creating long lasting memories for the families that attend each year. In the past we have had the pleasure of including other re-enactment units and marching bands. We always hear from parade attendees how much they enjoy seeing the Civil War re-enactor units and that they would like to see more.
If you or your unit is available and would like to march in our parade this year, please contact Jim Grant or myself. Jim may be reached at parade@memorialdaycommittee.org or by phone 207-841-3045.
Sincerely,
Mary K. Jewell

Dear Mary,
Welcome to MaineMilitia.com! You've come to the right place but you may be a bit late to lock someone in for the 2006 parade. Many groups have set there schedule and already have plans for Memorial Day 2006, I'm afraid. But now is the perfect time to start smoozing us for 2007! Contacting the units directly may be your best bet. Contact info can be found here: http://mainemilitia.com/maine_units
With that said, I have been a spectator to the Memorial Day parade in Topsham and Brunswick a dozen times or so. And I highly recommend it! For those in the know, I would have to say that Brunswick and Topsham do for Memorial Day what the city of Bath does for Independance Day. It's a large parade and well attended by the public.
Are you still working at The Times Record? It's been a while since I've bumped into you. Not even sure you remember me actually.
Feel free to post back anything you think this community may be interested in. Best of luck with the Parade. Bless you!
