I was contacted by an Bill Buhelt, an old friend and occasional member of the 3rd Maine. Bill is committed to doing a CW educational program in Biddeford (at the jr. high or high school, I believe) this coming Friday, Feb. 17, from 7:45 - 10:30 AM. His partner George ("Hollywood") has had to bail out at the last minute and Bill is in need of one or two reenactors to help him out. Soldiers in gray would be more than welcome. If anyone is available Friday morning and can help with a presentation to a large number of students, please contact Bill either by email at buhelt@bpd.net or cell phone at 229-8203.

I can lend a hand. I'll check with the point of contact to get the
particulars. If you are in touch with them before I can, let them know
what my usual EDU program is and if that's OK with them.

Met up with Bill this morning. We vaguely remember each other from years past but he remembers my brother well as they went to the Academy together. Small world.

I was not really thinking when I volunteered as it is a 2.5 hour drive which was not a problem until I realized I have to get up at about 3:30AM to get ready to go for 7:30.

Packed up some gear and a few cannon balls. Bill had some original artifacts. The kids were kept busy with handling of uniforms and equipment which seem to be the highlight of the indoor presentation. The firing demo topped it off for the kids. Glad the weather cooperated.
