I'd like to challenge everyone out there to do something to improve their impression this year. It may be replacing that old purple sack coat with a correctly patterned, sewn and dyed one, and hang the cost. It could be to leave ALL vestiges of the 21st century at home for just one event, using only period items instead of hiding the cooler under a balnket. It may be to eschew the heavy camping so common at events and "go campaign style" for just one event, taking just what you can fit in your bedroll or horse collar, eating only period rations.
So with the advent of a new year lets all make some resolutions to improve this year, instead of doing the same old thing with wall tent palaces, poor quality gear and anachronisms up the old you know what.
I seek to improve by losing some weight, so I look more like a CW infantry soldier than a slightly overweight guy in CW clothes.
How 'bout you?

Hey Bob, a bunch of us are up to that challenge and have been planning it out in the form of the Kitchen Conferences. My personal goal for quite a while is to improve my impression through knowledge of how the soldiers lived. Our 1st meeting on 1st impression will help enhance that delivery.
I think you'll be much leaner when you are done your tour in the sweat box!
