I was wondering wh was going to First Manassas. I was wondering if there was enough interest to maybe charter a bus for the trip. I went to school with a gentleman who owns a bus company. If there is enough interest I am willing to try to arrange it.

1st Manassas
There is no way on God's green earth that I am going to miss Manassas. But I am sure that I have a reenacting buddy going with me. Masassas is like going to the big show. Makes my heart glow warmly to think about the Yankee's running with thier tails between thier legs because of one little Rebel yell. Hawks and Eagles Fly Like Doves CopperHeadAnnie
Tenative approval from Household Affairs
It's on my list but I think i will be trying to plan a vacation around the event and take the family down. I believe my wife will be motel militia for the weekend. But it's still early. Who knows?

I posted the bus information with the 3rd Maine. You may hear from a few of us.
I myself do not know if I can make this one. It is the year (a trip every few years) we travel back to the home Island of PEI for a visit with Kith and Kin. We usually go at that time.

Plan on going
I plan on going, but transportation is not firmed up yet, I can ride or provide transportation as required. We should stay in touch on this board to coordinate that.
I also plan on going, along
I also plan on going, along with Dwight Thurlow and his family. We will be going down the Thursday before the event. After the event we will be going to The Museum of the Confederacy, Washington DC, The National Medical Museum, and 2 days of Gettysburg. Anyone that might be interested in joining our group let me know and I can give you more details. We will be gone for a total of 10 days.

Jury is still out......
Would like to go and start the new rotation, but im one of those guys that makes long range plans only to have them foiled by Fate. if I get trailer hitch on my wifes car I will be in high cotton.
Im thinking of maybe sellin the red mule(my Jeep) and getting a more reenactor friendly vehicle, like on of those butt ugly honda vans/suv, you know the ones that look like a box with wheels, anyhow if that happens I might have room, and if not you have to ride on the trailer and hols stuff down....

Higher HQ endorsed the request a few months ago. It'll depend how work/Navy may effect things.

I used to cut down trees in ga with a chainsaw in the summer. least its up in the valley, maybe cool mountain breezes will calm the heated vapors, so I guess this time the heater house will represent the henry house. Ive looked at the website, if this preregestration gets any earlier we are gonna have to start registering for 2008 events now.....
