Well, I and I'm sure others have started to look ahead to 2006. I know the Third Maine has called for calendar suggestions by their membership. The following are the items on my list right now. I will of course add the Third Maine's Camp of Instruction when that gets scheduled. And probably a drill or two.
But I have promised to go "grey" for two events in 2006. Once for the 29th GA and once for the 15th AL. So which events will they be fellas? My schedule needs to be submitted to "The Management" (read that as my wife) and "The Sub-committee in charge of HouseHold Affairs" (read that as my daughter) for final approval!
I would prefer an event in Maine since my travel allowance will be expended to go to Virginia in July. But a New England event could be worked out if necessary.
I know some other chaps who usually wear "blue" that have pledged to go "grey"! What are your plans? And I think we might be able to guilt a few others who are normally Unionists to be Rebels at some time when the cooperation on The Third Maine's muster recreation event starts to ferment. Back scratching is a health activity!

September 2 &3, 2006 - Camden, Maine. There will be a very special celebration of the August 30, 1906 laying of the Conway boulder memorial. It honors William Conway who, during the civil war, refused to lower the American Flag at the Naval Station in Pensacola Florida.
