11/13 meeting and drill
Wear your uniform, gear, etc. just like you would for an event.
Directions per the newsletter: From the north take 295 to exit 17(us rt 1); turn left on spring street (rt 88) turn right on Main street (rt 115) Legion post is #91 (looks like a log cabin next to the overpass)
from the south take 295 to exit 11 (us rt 1) take slight right onto Portland street, turn left onto Main street (115).
Thank you and excellent drill
Thank you, captain, sir, as you probably noticed I did find the event.
Umm... you might NOT have noticed except for my singular reaction to the "on the left by files into line" command, I beleive it was, where I got going the wrong way, and crashed into about 4 of my fellows. I think that may come from my experience playing football where I was a tackle, and tackles are trained to run INTO other people.
Otherwise, I don't think you would have noticed me as much during the exercise.
Excellent drill, by the way, and beautiful weather for it. I finally saw the field from the rear rank, and that was different indeed!
The Captain's decision not to let loose a series of volleys in front of the Yarmouth police station showed great wisdom and judgement, I thought, (I would not have shown such restraint and intelligence had I had anything to do with it) and the Captain's clear thinking, and common sense combined with thoughtful compassion for the men was clearly illuminated by the sole nomination of the Captain for another term in office at the unit meeting that followed the drill.
Felicitations, also, to First Sergeant Lawson, nominated without opposition to continue our NCO.
It is indisputable, indeed, that the leadership of our unit is conspicuously demonstrated by the continued wholehearted endorsement and confidence of the unit's men in our commanders.
