I just wondered if this website is in the Third Maine's newsletter. I think it would make the site much more popular and I think the company would be more. . . United. . . and more like a weathed unit that has been together through everything possible. It might make newcomers feel more welcome in the unit. Also, seeing as we never see each other in the winter, it would be a good chance to catch up on things with everyone in the unit. I don't remember ever seeing this website in it but I think it would be a pretty good idea.

Why Thank you sir
Thank you Thomas, I appreciate your kind words and encouragement.
I don't think it has been mentioned in the newsletter for the reasons you state. It has been mentioned in association to something specific items here, such as the Ride-Share category.
I'd love to see more activity from all Civil War reenactors in the state. Not just the 3rd but the 20th as well. And our friends in the 29th Ga, 15th Al, and the others that are scattered about the Great State of Maine. In fact, currently, The Third Maine has the most members registered here. You can see who is who by clicking on the Members link to the left. This area is only available to registered users.
The one thing to remember is that a great deal gets said around here. And although I am a member of the 3rd. The site has no official role or affiliation in any unit. It's just a gathering place to share ideas, information, and banter.
For those that do participate here, blue or gray, I think you will find we are becoming pretty tightly knit. As was evidenced by the social banter that took place at the Norlands this past weekend. It was nice to see faces of people I chat with all the time online.
Thanks again...

Its a great thing.
its a great thing in the reenacting community, It seems to be building a more cohesive alliance of reenactors, blue and grey. Lets hope it works further in the future.

It's definetly quite popular
Both in the state & out. Certainly the posters are from Maine but many of the guest readers are from "away". And it does lead to a sort of strange fame. At least in my husband's case. He's met alot of folks at re-enactments this year that know him from the board. I've even started teasing him that I'm going to raise some "powder funds" for the group by selling "My dad met Will Cotton & all I got was this lousy t-shirt" t-shirts. What do you think Mike? We could even plug Maine Militia on the back. And why stop there? Just think of the possibilities. Guinness bottles with Seamus' picture. Cds of Bootlicker's favorite songs.... Oh the trouble we could cause. What do you think CopperHead Annie?

Trouble
Patti I would not be a true CopperHead if trouble and adventure where not my middle name.I think the CD's of Bootlickers favorite song would be a number one seller. Patti at least you are not know in the reenacting comunity as the lady that went sunny side up off her horse in front of 4 Confederate Generals. Yup for sure we could sell a t-shirt with that one. Then there is my daughter kicking the door of the porta potty and screaming to the federals for help yup I see a real good t-shirt there. Then there could be the 29th GA road kill t-shirt what are they cooking in camp tonight. Ok it is off to bed with me. Here Here long live the Nancy Harts and long stand the state of GA All is well that ends well. CopperHeadAnnie
