Shoes repaired...Cobler review

Roys Shoe Shop
Scarborough Me.
I dropped them off a full week prior to the event, and was told they would be ready by the following Friday, which they were.
Having never resoled anything but riding boots,I dont have much to go on in regards to comparison, but it doesnt look like it was a poor job.Im a little concerned about the stitching on the sole,I feel its a little TOO close and my fear is that the stitching will go faster than normal. If Im remembering correctly, the original makers,Flying Canoe Trading co. out of trois rivieres, Canada, did have the stitching protected in some fashion, but these shoes have been on the campaign trail about 4 years now,so my memory may be off.
Roy did scrub down the aforementioned "glossy" finish, which left the sole looking like rough out leather. It darkened up nicely slogging through the field.
Price $ 48 bucks.
Steeper than the quotes I got from Shoe Renu in Brunswick..my fiance said he got his done down there for $25.But that was 5 years ago.
Time will tell. These shoes get some fairly heavy use, seeing three different "wars" and a good part of that being solidering. If I have to resole them next year, due to stictching rot, then I may get a wee bit cranky about it.
