I know the Govt and the army did a lot of bad things but we must have done some good...what kind of spin are we having here? about the most redeaming thing so far in the last episode of into the west was the transformation of the Ignorant Irish Racist accepting the chinese as "real People" but the work boss never changes nor does the railroad men. but I see now Tom berringer has gotten work.
There must have been more points of light in the darkness that is portrayed of the west other than a few that sniff with rightous indignation, and then follow orders.

Scenery and costumes

The only thing I'm really enjoying about this mini-series are the scenery and costumes. The action scenes aren't bad either.

I just find it interesting that they will show a soldier cutting down woman and children in an indian village but they don't show the indians burning out some dirt farmer and his family on the prarie? Where is the balance?

It's a shame really, that Manifest Destiny gets such a bad rap...

well there is a high point.....Battlestar Galactica starts again on the 15th!
as far as into the West I should just not spend my time on it but now its like a train wreck...I just cant look away...I wonder if some sutlers were used to procure some of the outfits? next on Mercury sutlers web page into the west will be added to movie credits...I think they ought to do a movie about Father Rasle, starring Gerad Depardu...with the climax being the massacre. Tim Roth can play the british commander.....

I'm looking forward to BSG's second season. The first season was great!

And I too will be watching for the train wreck that is Into the West. Only a couple of weeks left or so. I guess it's not going to hurt me any to see it through.

Rasle, there's a good story not yet ruined by Hollywood!

the new twist.........

Of course in the hollywood version of the massacre, Rasle(depardu) falls in love with the beutiful white girl captive of the indians(Scarlett Johansenn) and begins to doubt his faith and celebacy, but when the massacre occurs he and his love, White Tail(johansenn) are able to escape with the aid of his funloving devil may care side kick, Father o'shannusy(Tom Arnold) who ends up redeming himself and finding his own faith as he take father Rasles place at the Village in the ultimate sacrifice, and historical mistaken Identity.... the two lovers make their way to Montreal where the ex-priest and his girl open a hat shop and live happily ever after.

All these years and finally, the 'true' story comes out! Rasle escaped and loved out the remainder of his life in secrecy for love. I'm getting in line at the theater now! :)
