Re-enactor List
Submitted by capt cotton on July 2, 2005 - 6:10am.Mike,
Here's an idea but not certain if it is worthwhile and there are diffinitely pros and cons to it. What about compiling a list of reenactors and contacts. We do this in a way by signing up but there are guys (and gals) that don't sign up who are worthwhile contact for things. In addition, it give awareness of the many different groups out there. It could be useful for matching a name to a unit in some cases. Will

I thought I would start a new topic to explore this idea.
Kind of like an official directory of who's who? What sort of info would we want here?
Have you clicked on the Members page yet? http://mainemilitia.com/members
What info is not there or not linked from there that you think we need? Are we better served excouraging those individuals not on that list to join in than to post info of someone not participating here? Obviously, I would not want to post any personal info of anyone who did not agree to have it posted. But I don't mind posting info if they don't mind.
This kind of goes along with something that Criag and I were tossing around in email recently. Craig's question was about the possibility of creating a way to exchange event attendance request info. Meaning, some organization requests a specific group to partiicpate in an event. But that group can't, for whatever reason. How could that request be shared with another group who might be able to? Craig, did I get that right?
We could create a contact-the-community page with a general form that would be copied to a represenative in each unit or a list and explanation of each unit in the state and a recommendation on how to contact the community.
I'm just kind of having a mind dump here. I know there are some issues involved with this. But lets toss it around a bit.

ch ch ch changes ( time to ease the pain)
Well like I said change is bad....but it looks pretty good just will take some getting used to...the options on the catagory list moves quicker than the old site and it looks like with some practice that there will be less backtracking for the uninitiated...Craigs bule alien needs a kepi.
