Maine Humanities Council has awarded a couple of grants for research and education surrounding the Civil War Sesquicentennial.

$500.00 to the Maine Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee for planning of archiving online excerpts from two Portland newspapers.

$1,000 to King Middle School Library for a year-long commemorative study of the beginning of the US Civil War.
