Inside BaFK
Good luck Miss Rose!
For everyone else, I wanted to give you a little inside baseball on what Miss Rose means by "her month". I'm helping with the BaFK website and have been promoting the heck out of the website to get the traffic up. To the point that I used a $100 credit I had to buy ads for the site on Google AdWords. A big success by the way! Then to see if I could self-promote and have as much success for free, I made a joke about tripling the traffic on my own.
Well, I didn't quite triple the traffic. It did go up but not as much as I had hoped.
I had hoped that my friends and my friends of friends would "pay it forward" and re-share, repeat, and pimp the site as well. Many did not do that. So now it's Miss Rose's turn to show me how it's done! And that her followers are more powerful than mine.
This is a fun activity of course. And not a competition as much as it is both our efforts to make Battle at Fort Knox a huge success and learn a bit more about promoting an event on the Internet. Miss Rose and I have been talking about another venture we may attempt together. Self-promotion and encouraging our connections to help us will be a big deal with our plans.
So get out there and send a link to the website to all your friends. Encourage them to send to their friends. Join us on Facebook! Twitter! Join the email list! Mention it to people at the grocery store! Creep out that stranger at the gas pump! But help us spread the word and make this event big!

If this event succeeds then the next effort Miss Rose and I go into may pay off for you more than you can imagine! 'Cause we are imagining pretty big...
Thanks,
Let History begin with us!
Yes, yes, My Dear Friends,
Michael is most correct. This is indeed a win-win friendly competition we are engaged in... er... I mean not a competition, a joint effort..Ya, that's it. And our aspiration is one of such grand imagintation, we all will benefit in more ways than one can imagine... even I... and as some of you know, I have quite the imagination sometimes!
I would like to thank Michael and all of his support in the Battle plans thus far. I see good things happening in the future for Maine and the Battle At Fort Knox is merely a dress rehearsal. Without his endless support and patience with me (I know it is hard to believe anyone needs patience with me), I fear I may have had need for some of doc's "medicine".
The Sesquicentennial Of the American Civil War is quickly approaching. Already, 150 years ago, the events that would shape our country were underway. Maine and her role is not one to be taken lightly as we honor those who served to give us the freedoms we hold dear today. And we musn't neglect those who were at home holding down the fort, so to speak. Without those at home, there would have been no support for the miltary or in some cases a home to return to.
Maine will be celebrating her 200th year soon after the Commemoration of the ACW... let the imaginations wander...
Now, let's spread the word about BaFK and have it be the first of many ways we commemorate those men and women who gave us our freedoms and those who contiune to protect those rights today!
See you on the web today! And at the fort in July!!
With Warmest Regards,
~Miss Rose
