Yesi have found an enfield, i went to a blackpowder gun show a little while back and there was one there, it looked brand new and shot brand new to, that is when i got it home and found that i had bought a loaded musket!!!
Nick Sekela sells the Gardner pattern canteen. It's $99.00, but it is the best on the market right now. Wooden canteens are one of those things you really don't want to cheap out. Comming from experience, a lower quality ones will be more likely to leak in a shorter amount of time.
Glad to hear that you found an enfield. I bought the one at Kittery that I told you about it turned out to be defarbed! So anyway I agree with Mike lets hear the whole story of your loaded musket.
I agree with Tom also going cheap is not always the best thing, however if you do find yourself with a leaking wooden canteen or a rusted metal one for that matter, you can simply wax it. Go to your local hobby store or grocerie store if they have canning supplies and buy some clear parafin (wax) melt to liquid on the stove top pour into the leaking canteen and swish it around to coat the entire interior surface. This will not only seal any leaks but will also help to remove some of those peculiar not so pleasent old canteen flavors as well. Wax is relatively cheap and the process is quick and easy. Works for wooden water kegs as well!

leaking canteens
My dear, dear Tophat!
What a great idea... I am assuming it holds up even in your neck of the woods?
Gotta love you Southern boys.
Is it July yet? I need a dose of "Tophat'.
